A: Any youth who is at least 11 and not yet 18 years of age OR are at least 10 years old, currently in 5th grade and register on or after March 1st OR are at least 10 years old and have earned the Cub Scout Arrow of Light award as a Webelos Scout (the highest rank in Cub Scouting).
A: We strongly encourage you to register if you have youth in the troop. You can come on campouts, join as an Assistant Scoutmaster, teach merit badge classes, or serve on the Troop Committee. Registered adults are required to take Youth Protection Training class and online training is available for leaders.
A: Yes. Monthly outings and other activities have costs associated with them. Weekend campouts generally cost $20-$30 per person. Longer or more complex outings will cost more (i.e. Summer Camp). Your Scout is not required to attend every event, but participation is encouraged. The Fundraiser Committee will come up with some ideas (in addition to popcorn sales) where your Scout can earn funds for her scouting activities.
A: The Scouts will schedule their activities for the year during a planning meeting in August and present their plan to the troop committee.
A: We schedule at least one camping/outdoor event about every two months.
A: Yes! However, every adult that attends any overnight activity with the unit must be registered in the BSA.
